Sailing ‘The Far Side’! 

Hello! Welcome to our page ‘Sailing The Far Side', we are very excited to have you following along on our journey as we fight Pirates, fend off Giant Squids, get swollowed by a Giant Whale… JK Hopefully… But, we are looking forward to the many destinations, experiences, and people we meet along our journey and are glad to have you all following along.

A little intro for those of you who are new to our page, we are two sisters who have been sailing on our dads sailboat that he had built in the late 1980’s. Our dad had a Tradewinds 50’ monohull double-ender built in Taiwan and named it ‘The Far Side’. He sailed his dream boat around the Pacific for 5 years, which during that time he met our mom. Then he sailed it from Japan to California single handed, where ‘The Far Side’ ended up in the US. We have grown up listening to the adventures they went on and memories they made on the sailboat we grew up sailing. About 6 years ago, the two of us thought, why don’t we ask if we can go on our own adventure and create our own memories on ‘The Far Side’. Our dad was very excited about the prospect of the two of us having the interest to go on this adventure. Over the next 6 years on every holiday we had in Florida, we worked on the boat. We both graduated from University with Bachelors degrees as Varsity Swimmers and Scholar Students and began the real work to get the boat back to her prime.

We are taking advantage of our 20’s, having no debt’s, to sail around wherever the wind takes us!
